Lookup Douglas County Inmate Records

Douglas County inmate records start with the sheriff's jail roster for people in current county custody. A Douglas County jail roster search can show custody status, booking identifiers, and basic result fields, while full jail records may require a DCSO records request. Sentenced state prisoners, federal inmates, and immigration detainees are not all searched in the same place, so the right lookup depends on who holds the person.

Douglas County Jail Roster Overview

The official local route is the DCSO inmate hub, which links to the Douglas County Inmate Inquiry. The public inquiry is a New World / CAD portal for Douglas County jail custody. It is meant for people held by the Douglas County Detention Center, including arrestees, pretrial detainees, local sentenced inmates, no-bond holds, work-release participants, and some adult federal detainees housed by agreement.

The roster is not a statewide prison database. Once a Douglas County defendant is sentenced to the Colorado Department of Corrections, the county jail roster may no longer be the right place to look. The same is true for federal and immigration custody. Use the county roster first for current DCSO custody, then move to CDOC, BOP, ICE, VINELink, or court records when the facts point outside the county jail.

The DCSO inmate hub shows the county's main inmate information links, including Detention, Booking, mail, bond, commissary, and Inmate Inquiry.

Use the Douglas County Inmate Roster

The Douglas County Inmate Inquiry was blocked from direct inspection during research by a Cloudflare challenge, but official snippets exposed the main search fields and result columns. Search broad first. Duplicate names are common, and a subject number or booking number is much better than a name when one is available from DCSO, court paperwork, or a bond company.

  1. Open the DCSO inmate hub and select Inmate Inquiry, or use the official CAD inmate inquiry URL.
  2. Enter the person's name if no booking number or subject number is known.
  3. Add a booking date range if the arrest date is known.
  4. Use In Custody or Housing Facility filters if the portal exposes them during the search.
  5. Open the result by name when the portal allows it, then confirm custody, bond, housing, and booking details through DCSO if needed.

If the portal fails, call Detention at 303-660-7559 or Booking at 303-660-7550. For document copies or older material, use the inmate-records request route instead of relying on the live roster alone.

The roster field list below is based on official indexed snippets from the Douglas County CAD inmate inquiry. Because the portal could not be fully inspected, the "required" column stays conservative. Do not assume a field is required unless the official portal displays that rule to the user.

Request Douglas County Jail Records

When the online Douglas County inmate records search does not show enough detail, use the DCSO inmate records request page. DCSO says jail records include booking, charging, housing, and probable-cause information. Requests can be submitted through the online records portal, by downloadable form through mail, or in person at the records counter. Medical and mental-health records need the WellPath medical release form.

The online records portal includes a Jail Records Request type. Captured fields include incident date, inmate number, first and last name, date of birth, request details, comments, requester name, company, address, phone, email, and confirmation email. Booking Records in Douglas County

DCSO says arrested people are brought to the jail at the Robert A. Christensen Justice Center. Deputies interview the arrestee, complete paperwork, take a booking photograph, take fingerprints, and collect a DNA sample with a mouth swab. Booking can take several hours. During booking, arrestees receive a limited number of free calls to attorneys, family, friends, and bondsmen.

After booking, the person may post bond if eligible or move to a housing area to remain through the court process. If a judge does not allow bond, DCSO says the inmate is seen by a judge or magistrate the following day. The booking record is not the same as the court case record. For the case that follows an arrest, use the Colorado Judicial Branch docket and Douglas County Combined Courts records process, or the court records after a jail arrest page.

Find County, State, and Federal Inmates

The Douglas County roster covers the county jail. The Colorado.gov Find an Inmate service covers Colorado Department of Corrections prisoners after state sentencing. The Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator covers federal inmates from 1982 to present. The ICE Online Detainee Locator covers current ICE detainees and CBP custody over 48 hours, but it does not search minors.

Mail and Money for Douglas County Inmates

Douglas County personal mail does not use the jail street address. DCSO routes personal mail through a Jonesboro, Arkansas P.O. Box with the inmate's name and Global ID number. DCSO says the Global ID is a six- or seven-digit number and is not the booking number. Legal mail and money orders use the jail street address with the inmate name and booking number.
